Just when the VMA controversy was over, the rumors are spread that cover for the December edition of Vogue has been canceled due to Miley Cyrus much-lambasted performance during the awards show. According to Hollywood news daily, by Cyrus’ antics, Anna Wintour was so appalled that she decided to scrap all the photos from the shoot.

However, we got to know that it was just an idea the magazine was toying with, but has since decided against it. The initial reports described that certainly it is not Cyrus vs. Anna showdown. As fashion glossies have become reliant on big-name celebrities to sell copies, it’s not surprising that Cyrus would be pegged for the cover. After all, featuring Cyrus in full-blown couture didn’t have much of a problem to Harper’s Bazaar.

Since Cyprus debuted her newly revamped image, her approach to more formally orchestrated coverage and interviews has been rather interesting, going for the alternatives like Billboard and Notion and steering away from some of the major fashion mags. Lot of publicists would agree that for a star looking to legitimize anew image, securing a Vogue cover is an absolute necessity. In fact, Cyrus maybe herself feels that Vogue is a little too high-brow for her brazen, Molly-induced persona, given her intense desire to be subversive. We would not be surprised if Cyrus pops up on the cover of an equally high end and in many ways, more exclusive, magazine known for its surprising cover girls, CR Fashion Book in the next year. Anyway, probably Cyrus is one of the few people on earth with media exclusive attention without Anna’s approval, so we surely won’t be any time soon hearing her end.
