Glowing skin is desire of every person but it is difficult to attain due to several factors like stress, dehydration, poor diet, lack of sleep, humidity and heat. New York City based dermatologist Janet Prystowsky says that the skin looks fresh and dewy in summer when the temperature is between 30 and 40 degree Celsius along with 40% to 50% humidity. But the complexion becomes sweaty instead of agile and dewy after increase in temperature and humidity.

But you can change this undesirable complexion by few simple ways that will make you glow during the whole summer season.

Even with a sweat free face, you can have a dull complexion in summer due to dehydration as a result of summer perspiration. This problem can be solved by drinking more water. Prystowsky says that your skin will look fresh and dewy when the dead outer layer of skin is exfoliated and skin cells are well hydrated. Harold Lancer, Beverly Hills board-certified dermatologist, added that skin barrier stabilizes with hydration which moisturizes the skin and helps collagen production and cell turnover.

Lancer says that it is not necessary to think about an exact amount to drink but you should drink water whole day according to your requirement. It can easily be done by keeping a water bottle with you all the time.

Jennifer T Haley, a certified dermatologist from Arizona, recommends eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids to get a dewy look. Wild salmon, walnuts and flaxseeds are rich in this fatty acid. She also advises to reduce the consumption of sugary and processed foods as they can produce breakouts and oily skin.

If you want to create fresh look with makeup then less is more. Beauty blogger and makeup artist Hillary Kline suggests keeping the makeup light by initial foundation and a small amount of moisturizer. A mattifying primer should be used foundation to get a velvet finish if it is necessary to use foundation before going outside. This is especially important if you have oily skin.

Kline added that dewy appearance can also be created with highlighter but it should also be used minimally by applying it only at down the bridge of the nose and on top of the cheekbones.
